Saturday, April 4, 2009 is a
Heartstrings & Angel Wings workday!!

The NICU babies are in need of clothing, blankets, isolette covers, etc and this is an excellent opportunity to get a large quantity of products ready for the babies and ready to deliver in the shortest amount of time! It's also a time to get caught up on what's happening in the organization and enjoy each other's company all while giving to a great cause.

No sewing experience is necessary!! (We can either instruct you on how to perform a simple sewing task, or set you up doing something non-sewing related.)

Please RSVP as soon as possible, and we'll send you more information (and directions if needed)! RSVPs are very important to make sure we have the right amount/type of equipment and material there for you to use! You can RSVP to heartstrings_angelwings@yahoo.com.

The cookoff was a huge/major/super success and we appreciate all who were involved. We hope to have all of you again next year!!!

March Madness!

Lots of updates to post today!!!

First, our First Annual Gumbo Cook-Off is this weekend!!!! If you haven't signed up to cook and would like to, you haven't run out of time yet, the deadline to sign up was extended to March 12th. Call Colt ASAP to get signed up. His cell # is 277-6745. If you don't want to cook, there's still a lot of things to come out for. First, we will have a raffle for gift certificate donations that we received. (Awesome!) You must be present to win. Second, we will have a silent auction with lots of awesome items that have been donated to us. (You can view a partial list here.) Third, GUMBO!!! A public tasting will be held as soon as judging concludes.



At the event we will have information on hand about Heartstrings and you can sign up for updates and volunteer. We will also have information about March for Babies, and if you want to walk with us in May, you can sign up at the Cook-Off.



The gates open to the public at 7pm. Gumbo tasting and Lil Nathan and the Zydeco Big Timers begin at 8:00. The silent auction has 2 tables; bidding ends for Table 1 at 8:30 and Table 2 at 9:00. Award ceremony is at 9:00.

Our March workday was a huge success! We got a lot of items completed! They are being washed and packaged and getting ready to be shipped off to the NICU.
So cute...
There are 2 ribbons per shirt, so this is a lot of little shirts!A few St. Patrick's Day bibs.Our next workday is April 4th. For more information about the workday, please see our newsletter on the website. Go HERE.

Our March for Babies team is growing! You can join us by going to our team page, or contact one of us and we'll sign you up. March of Dimes is a great organization that works to prevent premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. With our help, maybe one day all babies will be born healthy.
